the most surreal of us all - Joan Miró

Exhibition: Joan Miró
Place: Tate Modern

I like Miró's inventive imagination in his works; and it is also impressive that his works reflects his world and events surround him.

Sometimes I don't enjoy seeing surreal pieces when I can't figure it out or having no feedback watching them; other times I love it a lot because I can let my imagination run wild and put my thoughts into artists' work by simply admiring them.

I do like Miró's work a lot, especially those line figures which express the emotions so well. And for me, they're in kind of bizarre-look in a charming way.

I drew some of them in my sketch book and jotted down what I liked about them.

Those line drawings are so fluid and nature which create a lovely, enjoyable atmosphere watching them.

Vision Without Action is Hallucination

"Vision without Action is Hallucination." It's from a book called Making Ideas Happen as Holly told us.

I was attracted by the word "hallucination" at first without even knowing what the word meant.
It sounded interesting to me just like I've always been attracted by different accents.

Interesting, isn't it?
Sure it is!

And there's no doubt that "Vision without Action is Hallucination!"

This was the start of practicing on primary and secondary research which we will carry on with us through our MA course!

photograph or drawing

Looking down from the window in our studio, I took this photo in black and white.
However, I guess it appears to be more than just black and white.

It's fun to put my thoughts in the drawing and make it more than what I've seen.
With added information or transformation in style, the work expresses differently from the photograph.

photography - observing shadows

Shadows are flexible, changeable, unstable, unpredictable, and magical!

It can be way bigger than the thing itself or it can be totally in the opposite situation which seems to be smaller than the object, and sometimes shadows just never appears.

imaginative, isn't it?

To feel the atmosphere of the shadow and the mood of it despite what it actually is, I like those anonymous reflections of the real objects.

At some point, they're more attracting than the object even though it's nearly just black.

a joyful adventure

To enjoy traveling alone was the point today!

It was kind of a prompt decision to explore Oxford Circus and Covent Garden on my own for a day.
I didn't plan things out before hand and that was also part of the decision that I was going to have a more relaxed  journey to visit a new place.

And that was it; I did this trip despite the fact that the weather didn't seem friendly in the morning.

Oxford Street is more of a trendy shopping paradise filled with an atmosphere of fashion especially during this big sale season, while Covent Garden is a place seems to be traditional, calm, relax, and a suitable place to enjoy a sip of coffee and afternoon tea.

I went in a cafe recommended by a blogger, ordered a "Flat-White" which I'd never had before.
As the shop owner explained to me it is made of double espresso with steamed milk which is quite similar to latte but tastes stronger, still the name attracted me to try it out.

I am a "coffeeholic," the word I made-up to describe people as a heavy coffee consumer.
I love not only the smell, the taste, but also the latte art, such as leaves, a swan, a bear, or even more creative ones that can only be seen from specific barista.

Sometimes I also find it interesting about coffee stains....

the foam, the brown stains left in a cup made an irregular artistic trace
which seems to be kind of a spontaneous art itself

That was an mysterious look on his face!
